Wind + Weather

DKP reserves the right to reschedule a scheduled kiteboarding lessons in response to a lack of wind forecasted or current conditions.

• Forecast-Based Modifications: In anticipation of insufficient wind conditions as forecasted, DKP may proactively contact participants to offer alternative lesson arrangements. Such alternatives may include, but are not limited to, water-based activities such as board introductions or foiling lessons, designed to impart valuable skills and knowledge despite adverse wind conditions.

• Real-Time Adjustments: Should wind conditions deteriorate during a lesson, DKP will pivot the lesson focus to cover theoretical knowledge, safety practices, and instructional components that do not require optimal wind conditions. This ensures the continuity of learning and maximization of participant engagement. Should we cover all wind independant material without suitable wind, billing will occur in 15-minute increments for the instruction provided, with any unused portion refunded or credited towards your next session.

• Kite Mastery Program Adjustments: For participants in the Kite Mastery program, which necessitates consistent wind conditions, DKP may either adapt the lesson to theoretical and safety instruction or reschedule the full-sized kite lesson to a subsequent date with favorable wind conditions.

• Limitation of Liability: DKP shall not be held liable for any inability to conduct lessons as originally scheduled due to inadequate wind conditions. The decision to modify or cancel lessons is at the sole discretion of DKP, prioritizing participant safety and regulatory compliance over all other considerations.

• Participant Rights: During the tenure of their engagement with DKP, participants are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to partake in kiteboarding lessons, including any adjustments or modifications made in response to wind conditions, in accordance with the terms set forth herein.

• Modification of Terms: The terms of this Wind Condition Policy may be modified by DKP at any time, in order to reflect technical advances, ensure continuous compliance with applicable mandatory law, or better accommodate the operational requirements of delivering kiteboarding lessons under variable weather conditions.
